Not sure if you heard about this story but it seems that idiot kids from Clemson decided to have a Martin Luther King party and drink some 40's of Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull and one rocket scientist decided to go blackface... Not real smart... If I didn't have to write "...one rocket scientist decided to go blackface..." then I would defend this as an ill fated attempt at a humerous social experiment in honoring a meaningful American figure. Blackface still kinda kills the mood.

If this was, in fact, a MLK party then the NAACP should back off and just call the kids stupid. If this was called a James Earl Ray Party, then that's a different story. If they all had 4 more bullets in their pockets (complete the rest of the joke yourself) then that would be a problem.

This couldn't come at a worse time for the state of South Carolina though... THe NCAA just ruled that there would not be a further sanction on prohibiting ALL playoff games, in all sports, in SC and Mississippi. Playoff games can be played but NO Championship Games in the state... WHY, you may ask? Because the idiot politicians decide to keep the Confederate Battle Flag flying on the state Capitol. Maybe it was their idiot kids that threw this party???

If we were in Alabama we would get to chose what you celebrate on that day... Martin Luther King or Robert E. Lee... That's right. Robert E. Lee's birthday is celebrated on the same day as MLK... Clemson Probes Party That Mocked Blacks

CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson University and the NAACP said Tuesday they are investigating an off-campus party during the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend at which white students mocked blacks by drinking malt liquor and at least one student wore black face.

Pictures from the party were posted online, and Clemson officials learned of the Jan. 14 party this past weekend. The school is probing whether students were harassed or whether there was underage drinking.

Clemson President James Barker wrote in a letter to students and faculty that he was "appalled, angered and disappointed" by the party, which "appeared to mock and disparage African Americans."

"Many people have been offended and deeply hurt," he said.

The party organizers issued an unsigned letter of apology, saying, "We invited all races and types of peoples and never meant any racial harm."

"We want everyone to know how sorry we are, and that we are willing to do anything to make things right," the letter said.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was looking into the party and at least three similar events at other colleges around the country, said state chapter president Lonnie Randolph.

Clemson has roughly 1,100 black students out of more than 17,000 undergraduates, the university's Web site says.

WOW. The other day I posted that I could finally relax and go ahead and get married because I will be able to make the Home Opener vs. Fla. St. Now the full schedule has been released and I can be at peace as I miss the next 2 games. Missing the Louisianna-Monroe game on the Wedding Date is no big deal, then missing the Furman game on the way back from the Carribbean will not worry me too much. (Not to say that we cannot lose to either of those teams but I can enter into this game with some level of confidence.)

Guess I am so pissed because this guy could be right.

Colbert had on the Author of "Whistling Past Dixie" and it outlines how the Democrats could win the next presidential election without carrying the South. Shit, he's right. Florida doesn't really count as the South, and the pussies in the mid-west are easily swayed. All the Dems need to do is continue to take the North East, West Coast, Florida and just a few wimpy mid-western states and they got it.

This reminds me of a skit on the Chris Rock Show in 2000 when Wanda Sykes is reporting on the election in fron of a Red and Blue map of the states. It showed how Gore got the NE and West Coast and Bush carried the entire south... All Red across there and Chris contested Wanda's commentary that Gore shoulda won and said, "Look at all the Southern States that Bush won." Her response was "It don't matter, no one lives down there no how."

OK, Now I can get married...
I just checked www.clemsontigers.com and found out that the Clemson vs. Florida State game is going to be Monday, Labor Day night.
My biggest concern was that I was going to miss the Big Opening Weekend of Clemson Football. This way, even if we play Boston College or Miami as game 2, I will at least have 1 game under my belt before the big day...
Maybe it will be the home opener for Willie Korn, and maybe it won't. At least the Fiance will not have to hear me bitch about missing this game...

I really don't pay much attention to the Senior Bowl or any of the college all-star games until i got stunned last night.
I was flipping channels and came across the HULA BOWL. No one watches this thing, as evidence by the 8000 fans in the stands (all friends and family of the players) but they do something crazy... Instead of East vs. West they have Aiki vs. Kanai... What the hell is that??? It's like those Hawaiians have a different word for everything. (Why confuse the bubba's and poindexter's and just say E vs W?)

I land on the channel and who do I see is quarterback? Will Proctor! Who? Will Proctor... Really it was...
Clemson's Sr. 1st yr starter made it to the Hula Bowl. Good for him... But wasn't there anyone else out there? I was surprised.
ALSO, guess who was playing behind him as tailback??? Reggie Merriweather... Reggie, Reggie, Reggie... Hmmm. He missed 4 games this year and was 4th on the depth chart at RB this year and he makes an All-Star game good for him.

Guess what happened?
Proctor had an AWESOME game, 9 of 15 for 107. He made some key passes and an unbelieveable toss to the endzone on the 2 point conversion.
Reggie, not sure of his official stats, but he scored the sole Aiki touchdown with 34 seconds to play... Reggie, Reggie, Reggie.

The game sealer was the Boise St. qb, Zabransky, threw an interception for a touchdown in the final seconds of the game to seal their fate...

Wow.. Will and Reggie made an inpact. (I also saw Gilliam in uniform but didn't see him make a play.)

My Tigers got KILLED in the Music City Bowl - to Kentucky, of all teams....
Money beat the shit out of me at golf the next day - I mean, KILLED me...
New Year's was not good this year...
Clemson fell to Maryland in Basketball to go 17 - 1 and it wasn't even on TV... This Wednesday we play UNC on ESPN and UNC just got killed themselves so they will be out for revenge...
MY "Them Boys" lost our 1st game to finish the regular season 5 - 1 and 2nd in the league. We now have to play our arch rivals "High Times" in the playoffs.
This past weekend my house was invaded by The Fiance's Momma and 3 sisters and a 1 yr. old... Oooof... I survived and still have about a tablespoon of testosterone left.
I almost got denied at a Modern Skirts show. Whoda thought some crazy opening act Brett Dennon would sell the place out. Had to call in a favor to get in. Wow.
Went to see a bunch of fish at the Georgia Aquarium with 3 million of our closest friends. Jesus... Over crowded, no wonder the fish are going belly up - too many people.
Had the yougest sister put a UGA "G" lick and stick tattoo, over my Clemson Tiger Paw tattoo on my leg and I didn't know it. Come to find it I am not safe-even in my own home. The Fiance did not protct me when I passed out Sat night and had all her sisters watching as the tattoo was applied as I lay in the bed... Shit I am surprised they didn't shave 1 eyebrow, put my hand in warm water, and fill my shorts with shaving cream... Just ain't cool...

As you can tell I haven't had much good to talk about....

Good the Tigers!!! Ass Whoopin' time began at 7pm and at 9:07 it was official... Clemson beats Georgia 75 to 60...

Very good defensive game by the Tigers. Ga. turned the ball over on almost every other trip down the court. Seemed like we had a decisive rebounding advantage again. We still cannot even get to 50% from the Free Throw line but we didn't need them this game...

(I think I need to write the Sports Information Director and see how many consecutive years Clemson has failed to shoot < 50% FT's?)

I trust this will be a positive omen for the football team.

The triptiphan is kicking in from another dose of Turkey leftovers. Need some sleep so I can get up early and get on the road to Nashville. Ready for the Goodies show in Asheville too!!!

Been a busy week.

Christmas on Monday.

Scored Music City Bowl Tix on Tuesday
- had to hurry to take my Clemson Tiger Paw Pants to get altered (should be ready by 3pm today. Also, had to make hotel reservations in Nashville and Asheville.)

Took Momma to Montgomery yesterday, all while attempting to get some work done. Also got word from Money that The Goodies are putting us on the Guest List @ Stella Blue for their show on Sat night.

Today has been lazy, some work, some play but trying to plot out the trip to Nashville. Where to park, where to party, how to get to the stadium.

Tomorrow is Up EARLY and drive to Nash Vegas... Drinking by 8am. Game at Noon! GO TIGERS!!!!

Saturday may bring just about anything. Golf, Grand Ole Opry, or steady drinking. We just gotta get thru the Gauntlet of I-40 while we still have our wits about us... Saturday night will be The Goodies!!! Hell Yeah.

One of the best reasons why I like being back in Atlanta is because White People do not work in the Dry Cleaning establishments... (They may own them, but let the foreigners work there since they are the only ones that can do it correctly.) While in South Florida, it seemed like only white people worked in the Dry Cleaners. WHY? They all sucked and were over priced. Light starch meant my shirts could stand up by themselves, multiple creases in my pants, and all for $2.50 a shirt.

I am back in ATL and love it. Just went to my local Dry Cleaners store and the little Chinese lady will have my Clemson Tiger Paw Pants altered by Thursday before I leave for NashVegas.$7.50 for the alteration too... Hell yeah... At our apartment the Dry Cleaners were from Cambodia and had $0.79 shirt specials... Can't beat that...

When I lived here in the early 90's the Iranian Cleaners on Candler Rd. used to run $0.39 shirt specials... Cant' beat that....

Maybe this is why I need to re-evaluate my views on immigration... My shirts need these workers...

Took the fiance to the game. Got good and lubricated as me and Money had beers and bourbon for dinner. Then off to the game.

The Fiance started in on the - "You know you guys are gonna lose..." That's the kind of support I get... We whooped some ass.

2nd play of the game and the Hitch-n-Pitch is called. I am perfect in execution so far this year... Well, of course, the pressure of the Fiance and her glorious prediction are in my head so what do I do? Totally muff the pass!!! It hit me right in the hands... SHIT!!!
I redeemed my self on the same play later in the game... Oh, well....

Saw something I have not seen in 2 years of playing flag football. The other teams chubby quarterback seemed to have flags that could not be pulled off. One play, Money dove, grabbed the flag, and this guy drug him along the ground since the flag would not come off. On another play, Big Tim, practically lifted this guy (all 230 lbs of him) off the ground by his flag belt. What the fuck...?

I am bringing my staple gun next game...

We get 3 weeks off before our showdown with the other Undefeated team, the Dogs (I refuse to spell it Dawgs). That should be a good game... Gotta take time off for Christmas and New Yrs.

Home ownership is begining to drive me crazy.
Today was the day to switch out the chandelier in the breakfast nook.
2 1/2 hours later it was done.
I quit 4 or 5 times. The Fiance quit helping just as many times.
Every time she said, Let me call Mono, let me take pictures and send them to Mono, etc., it just pissed me off even more... (Mono = the brother in law/ husband to the pain in the butt sister.) I just couldn't believe I couldn't get the damn thing.

You shoulda seen us both trying to get the electrical cord through the tube length.

Comical now, But... I was ready to commit multiple homicides this afternoon.

Now we have a chandelier in the breakfast nook - too bad there is no table underneath it.

Just now looking at the news wire and I see Nancy O'dell, of Access Hollywood fame, is expecting her 1st child.
I swear, it's not mine... We only had 1 date...
She barely acknowledged my existence...
It was 16 yrs ago.
(She wasn't my type - too many freckles... Who am I kidding everyone was my type in college.)

She was Nancy Humphries back then. Miss Clemson, Miss South Carolina, and Miss what the fuck am I doing out on a blind date with this scrawny boy that is shorther than me....

We played a team called MONEY. Punk ass kids... Their supporters were decked out in their H.S. letter jackets and they talked more shit than the players did...

Last night was fun but it was also COLD AS SHIT...
Our latest Flag Football game came with the temperature outside was around 32 degrees but the internal temperature was a boil. We played High Times, made up of the Tri-Conn misfits that were on our team last year. They had professional jerseys with made up names on the back - they looked good, but played like shit....

We weren't hittin on all cylinders either, buy yours truly had a good game...

After a few practices I got the plays and blocking schemes down and made myself a good outlet...

In the first half, when we needed a 1st down, who do they call on??? ME that's right. I catch one across the middle and go 10 yards, I see 4 black shirts right in front of me so what am I to do? I don't have the speed or agility to dance around all 4 of them so I double grip the ball and lower my head right thru their line... I didn't realize this was a penalty... I picked up a big 1st down but also a 10 yrd penalty for barrelling thru their line - Fuck Em...

2nd half comes and we are up 8 - 6 after we get a safety and they get a cheap touchdown... the clock is running down to 15 seconds and we have to punt to pin them against their goal line. Cunnilingus gets off a good punt (Since Blass's 1st punt traveled about 7 yards) and the Tri Conn guy catches, takes 2 steps and your humble narrator is there to snag the flag... HA. 1 more play and game over....

YEAH!!!!

This has been fun but I have realized 1 thing. Instead of stretching and calistenics to losen up - I found Bourbon is a good pre-game drink to keep you warm and loose....

So tonight is the Bowl Selection Show on ESPN and they, of course, are only announcing the BCS games, BUT, on the tracker on the bottom I see that Clemson will be playing Kentucky in the (Gaylor Hotels) Music City Bowl - Gaylord??? Jesus Fokker... Will there be rainbows all over???

Going to Nashville for a Friday night game could be kinda cool.... That may work, Roadtrip up, Game, golf the next day (need to mark off Tennessee on the golf state card - so far only 8 states marked off) then roadtrip over to a pre-New Years Eve show in Asheville, NC - Stephanie's Id opening for The Goodies... Home on Sunday for New Years Eve...

That sounds like a plan....

I was at the last Clemson vs. Kentucky bowl game... 1993 Peach Bowl with Barney from Little Mt., SC (the Promised Land)... Yee haw... Barney layed down in the middle of Pharr Rd in Buckhead at 11:20pm New Years Eve, Jesus he was drunk... I party with 7 Marines at Acme Bar and one guy gets a beer bottle smashed (actually shatterd) on his right ear - I grabbed the guy that did it by the hair and 6 knee lifts to the face and nose later the rest of the platoon realize what is happening and they pull the guy away from me and commence stompin his ass on the ground... That guy goes to jail (bloodied and bruised) and the Marines buy me drinks the rest of the night until the one private had to go get stitches in his ear/head...

OK, Yes, I am devastated about dropping our first game to Carolina in 5 years but that is not what I am talking about...

Holy Shit... I am in Biloxi, Mississippi and my initial impression of Gulf Port, Miss. is - Jesus, this is aweful. When I came in today on I-10 I could see the reminants of wind damaged trees and general dissaray around peoples/businesses yards and such - then I went to Hwy 90 (their beach front road)... Wow... My stomach got into a knot and 1989 flashbacks came to my frontal lobe...

Shrimp boats in the middle of Broad St. All the marina boats stacked on top of each other. National Guard troops with loaded M-16's on every corner. Hand painted warning signs - DO NOT ENTER, etc.

Gulf Port hasn't gotten much past this. The beach here has no dunes or sea oats so I could tell that a 20Ft wall of water had nothing to hold it back when the storm surge hit so no wonder there are just miles of beachfront that is totally barren. The only thing left is the slabs where i could imagine small beach houses or t-shirt shops and tattoo parlors were located before the storm. There is a Rite-Aid sign still standing 150' tall and NOTHING within 1/2 mile of it. Its amazing that the 100yr old previously beautifull oak trees are still standing, trying to live, but look so out of place - not providing shade over someone's back yard. Kinda eerie, seeing the FEMA trailers scattered around, seeing 1 or 2 houses being constructed when others are just engulfed in piles of rubble. Spoke to 1 business man and he gave me his cell # as contact # since he still does not have his phone service back. As it got dark you could hear the hum of generators and the roar of chainsaws, I would be sick as shit of those sounds if I had to listen to that for > 1 year...

Every one I met here was happy and up beat, even LaShaunda, the last dealer I had at Beau Rivage Casino as she knew I was on a roll and busted me with a 10 and 2 when she was showing a face card... What was I supposed to do? Gotta hit right??? My first time ever gambling, went in with $150 an I lasted almost an hour and a half... Won some but eventually lost alot... SHIT... They saw fresh meat coming.

Tomorrow I will venture thru Biloxi and see what it is like... God, if its this bad here, I could only imagine New O...

Not only did we move last Sat but Sunday night I got a call from Michael B and he wanted to call in a HUGE favor. Sure, Michael - anything for a bud that I have had for 34 years, and especially since the Fiance and I stayed with in for 4 days in Staten Island this summer. What do you need???

Can you pick me and my family up at the airport and coordinate a place to meet my mother outside of ATL, she is scared to drive in ATL. "Uhhhhhh, I guess." This will mean Michael, Yankee Kim (his wife) and 2 monster kids, 7 and 3. You do realize I drive a CAR not an SUV, not a minivan... Yeah-Yeah we may have to sit on suitcases but we'll be OK...

I show up at the airport Monday night and they have 11 pieces of luggage for 4 people, come to find out 2 of the suitcases are full of toys for the kids... What the fuck michael??? We gonna tie your kids to my roof??? Good Goddamn thing I have spent 18 yrs playing Tetris because I am 1 packing honky mo fo... 7 suitcases and the stroller in the Ack Ack's trunk, one on the floorboard and seat under the 3 yr old, kim holds 1 and Michaels feet are on another... Jesus. Right at 1 hr later I am in Commerce Ga with screaming fucking kids and meet up with their Grammy... Thank God.

Tuesday I traveled to Alabama to finalize one of my last deals.

Wednesday I was out at 3pm to get to Chuck town (i needed a beer after that damn drive)
Thursday I took Momma to Aiken to have Thanksgiving with the Fiance's Mom and Stepdad and sisters and Aunts and Cousins and 2nd Cousins and nephews and .... shit there were too many to remember. I quizzed Momma for the entire 2 hr drive- What's the Momma's name? What's the Nephew's name? What's the Little sis' name? Whats the Hippie Sis' name? Whats the BabyDaddy name? 2 hrs and she couldn't remember shit - sucks to get old. We get there and I eat my FACE off... I was done eating at 3pm and didnot eat anything again until today at 1:30 and i wasn't really hungry then.

Today I drove back to ATL.

Tomorrow we Get on the road by 5am to get to Clemson.... Go Tigers!!!

Yesterday was the MOVE... 3 slow mutha fuckers and a Truck. These guys were nice enough but dammit, get to work... The fiance called me @ the 3 1/2 hr mark and I told her that these guys were still unpacking and it was taking forever. She advised, "Just tell em to put the shit in the garage and we'll do the work." Hell yeah girl... I did what she said. They got finished @ the 5 yr mark and I was pissed. They did round down to 4 hrs since they did take their time - that was the redeeming factor.

Comcast came @ 8:15 this morning... Comcast? On time??? On a SUNDAY...? Well, Rashneesh didn't look like the Southern Baptist type... Cable and Modem seem to be working...

Still unpacking and I am tired as hell.... THe girl and I cracked and drank a nice bottle of French Champagne (a gift from France from dickboy) last night and talked till 12:30. We were both exhausted - snookie???- not tonight...

YESTERDAY was the first of the biggest days of Our lives...
The Fiance and I closed on our house, now comes the responsibility of home ownership.

This is a big step for us, and now I have to live up to my smack talk and be able to do minor home improvements. On tap for today is the new sink and garbage disposal - we got these yesterday but needed the pain in the butt sister-in-law to mention that we need some adheisive caulk... I think she loves the caulk...

After spending close to $3000 on appliances at Sears, no one would help us find the afore mentioned caulk in the tool department. Jerks.

Last night I brought over the Champagne and thought that after we bought the appliances we would have some quiet time at the house before coming back to the apt... Well, after installing the new toilet seats, I didn't feel real sexy. Then Money and his gf came over with a 12 pack... 4 beers in 20 min put leveled me out and made me want to go to sleep. They liked the house but it was 11 by the time we left. We will pick it up again tomorrow.

Roofing guy coming today. Magic supposed to quote me on some other handy man stuff. Then more packing.

Went to the Clemson game yesterday. THank God we won this one. But, I found my new favorite tailgate beverage. Miller Lite Pony cans... 8oz of love for $8.99 a case...

Sure people give me shit but do the math: 8oz x 24 cans = 193 oz
Your standard 12 pack costs $9.49 so: 12oz x 12 cans = 144 oz

Net benefit = 48 oz of beer for a $0.50 savings...

Thats what I am talking about....

I have been shopping for Home Owners Insurance, as our closing date is this Wednesday.

Against my better judgement I have chosen AllState, even though they totally screwed me in 1990 - but that is for a different RANT...

I am promised a discount here, discount there, get your car ins here and get another discount, get the Fiance on board and another discount, blah, blah, blah... All these discounts will get you to exactly the profit margin that they want - they aren't really discounts if they inflate the starting rate to begin with.... Any how, I thought everything was Kool until the Agent calls me. K$%&@ we see here that you filed a homeowner's claim in 2002.

I didn't have Homeowner's insurance before, I have ALWAYS carried Renter's Ins. Same thing in their eyes. Well... I didn't file a claim - I called the Ins Company because I "lost" my Ping golf clubs in 2002. No, i didn't lose them on a last minute putt on the 18th green, they just disappeared, somehow, someway. Well, I thought I would see what it takes to file a claim. I call the 800# and tell them my story. They say, your golf clubs are "only" worth $900 and you have a $500 deductible, do you really want to file a claim? Hmmm, Lemme call you back. I decide it isn't worth it. I will suck it up, take the loss and be out a set of clubs, If I filed the claim I would only get about $400 and they would definitely Cancel my insurance... So, I let it go... Chalk it up for me being a dumbass...

I get this call from AllState... PRUDENTIAL has you down for a claim in 2002...

WHAT??? Those Fucking Assholes... I didn't file the claim. I got no money from them. I just called and asked some questions and they convinced me NOT to file the Claim AND they still marked me down as having a Claim>????!!!!! THIS IS BULLSHIT and INSURANCE RAPE... This should be a criminal offence... PRUDENTIAL Is the same cocksuckers that cancelled me after 5 years for having 1 wreck, I was deemed at fault and it totalled the other car and I just have paint taken off my bumper the size of a dime - I didn't file a claim there either....

This is bullshit...

My AllState lady says "That's how it is"... "NEVER Call the 800# for your insurance." Always call your agent, and then they will still probably mark everything down as a claim.... She said every time you call, it is noted in the system as a claim... This is costing me $37 a year in lost discounts for asking 1 fucking question. She says"this is only $3.10 a month." I go crazy on her. That't not the point bitch... ITs the principle... Theiving bastards... Like Chef says, "Never get out of the fucking boat."

I tell her, Don't take this the wrong way lady but after we penn this deal - I never want to speak to you again. I have a Dr. but I NEVER want to see him. I have a Dentist and I NEVER want to see him. She says "I like talking to my clients" Good for you lady, you are just looking for a way to fuck em, I have better things to do with my life... Jesus... $3 here, $500 there, $2000 for this, the shit adds up.

Down here for work and I drew the straw for Western Pensacola, west of I-110 and south to the Naval Air Station. Yikes...

I grew up in a Navy town and right outside the Navy Base is traditionally the hood, with hookers ever present. The hole area west of I-110 SUCKS...

It didn't help that the President was in town yesterday and every cop from Escambia Count was on duty.

My ex-asst. mgr. told me about all the cool restaurants and bars by the beach but by the time I was ready for dinner, driving 20 miles in a driving rain storm did not have the same appeal. Went to the local sports bar, beers and wings...

Oh, well... I am sure this town has "some" redeeming qualities but I didn't find them on this trip.

So, I left the house yesterday morning around 6:35am and there is considerable traffic on 285. I am hauling ass in the Fast lane and what do I see happening in the 3rd inside lane??? A green Honda CRV gets clipped from behind and starts to fishtail and begins its' spin. That CRV does 3, 360's and I stand on my brakes...OH GOD, Oh GOD, Oh GOD... Every time this car spins I see the whites of this guys eyes staring at me... He does not his the retaining wall but comes to rest 4 feet in front of me, nose to nose. HOLY SHIT... I can't believe no one else hit him, and I can't believe I was able to stop in time. This reminded me of NASCAR, just like bump drafting in a race - ya' know what they say, "Rubbin is Racin."

We are parked in the Fast Lane of the Interstate on a blind curve and I get out of the car to check to see if this guy is OK. He stumbles out of his car gripping his back. Osama, or Sadaam, or Abdulla speaks to me like the convenience store owner. Abu, on the Simpson's. "Ooooh that guy hit me." "Ooooh my back.' OK I'll call 911.

As I dial 911 I realize that we are on a blind curve and cars are hauling ass past us, barely getting over in time to miss my car. (All I could thing of was leaning against the retaining wall away from my car in case someone creams my car from behind and launches my car into this guys car.

I call 911 and the operator comes on, "what is the nature of your emergency?" I witnessed an accident on 285 @ the Glenridge exit and we are stopped in the fast lane, the guy is hurt, please send help since we are parked in a dangerous position on 285... I'm sorry sir, you are in Fulton County and I have to... I cut this fucking bitch off, WHAT THE FUCK DOES IT MATTER WHERE I AM, I NEED HELP, THIS IS 911 RIGHT, GET ME SOME HELP HERE YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE... Instead of getting me help, we start a symmantical arguement that this is Cobb 911 and she has to transfer me to Fulton 911, blah, blah, blah... I go crazy... Transfer me you piece of shit... I get Fulton 911, its a bad connection, I can barely hear from the road noise and cell phone echo but don't want to hang up and re-call because I would have to go thru the same goddamn thing all over again.

I scream, get someone here NOW. Few minutes later the fire truck pulls up and blocks 3 lanes of traffic. Abu gets looked at. The cop comes up to me and asks what happened, blah blah. I tell him it was a dark SUV that hit this guy but I really didn't see it, I just tried not to hit him... (Come to find out it was a white pickup truck that hit him - he was pulled over about 1/8mile on the right.) (I guess the psychologists are correct, eyewitness's are unreliable.)

I change my underwear and resume my trek to Clemson. I get to Punk's yard and crack my first beer and it is gone in 2 sips. I tell my story about 3 times to all that will listen and continue to consume. I make my way to Johnny Boys tail gate and on the way I buy some Bald Peanuts (boiled to be specific) and these 35-40 yr old guys were discussing how to shotgun a beer. They had their Spydeco knife out and were about to poke a hole in the bottom,(under side) of the beer can... I stop them before they do it - one thing I HATE is when people do not know how to party propery...!!! What kind of self respecting Clemson fan doesn't know how to shot gun a beer... NO,no,no you idiots... Don't poke a hole there, poke it on th bottom of the upside, like this, as I take the knife and beer from them. I poke a nice hole and give it back and explain that you put your mouth over the hole, lift to verticle and then pop the tab. THey looked at me like a deer in headlights. I say, Give me a beer, you guys are killing me. Poke, Lift, Pop and beer is gone in <3 seconds. I crush the can, spike it into the garbage can, THATS HOW YOU SHOTGUN A BEER, pick up my bald peanuts and continue my trek.

I am getting pretty shit hammered and it is just 10:15am. Johnny Boy, breaks out the home brew and it tastes like liquid grass clipping, not tasty but >9% alcohol....Ooof. It was good to see Johnny Boy and his family. They are great people.

We go into the game, I get some hotdogs and yearn for a beer at Halftime.

The Tigers took an unanticipated LOSS to the Terps and any glorious aspirations we had went out the window, along with our offensive prowess. We had been in the top 5 in scoring offenses and now have not scored a touchdown in 7 straight quarters. 4 FG's is not going to cut it.

We "might" beat NC STate but probably won't beat USC...

Went into the office yesterday to learn about a new project we were awarded.
Kevin, we need you to go to Pensacola for a few days. They didn't tell me what days, where to go, etc. Alot of unanswered questions. So I start bugging everyone. Looks like I will leave out either Sun afternoon or Monday after a site walk in Alabama.

Either way I will be out of town on TUESDAY, November 7th. Should I contact my lawyer? THe ACLU? Jesse Jackson? The Democratic National Committee?

Francis Ford Coppola's cinematicly mesmerizing 1983 movie "Rumble Fish" continues to astound. This evening I sat and watched it, uninterrupted, and actually took notes. Normally I am amazed that Matt Dillon still has an acting career and wonder why Mickey Rourke is shunned in Hollywood. I get over it though. This movie is chock full of stars: Mickey Rourke, Matt Dillon, Diane Lane, Nicholas Cage, Chris Penn, Lawrence Fishburne, Dennis Hopper, Tom Waits, John Stamos and others I can't name...

Tonight was, go - don't go, go - don't go, until Money called me. Fuck it, its on. Then around 6pm the Fiance comes home and says she is not going to school - KOOL, wanna go see Tilly??? "I'm Tired" Wanna go see Tilly? "I shouldn't" Wanna go see Tilly? "You're making me feel guilty..." Well...? "No." So I head to the Euclid Ave. Yacht Club - I love that joint, just for the people watching...

Money shows, we have a couple more carbonated adult beverages (16oz Schlitz for $2.00 is what I was having :)

We make it to the show just as The Black Lips go on. They fucking ROCKED... A mix between Dick Dale, Mark E. Smith (of The Fall), Jan and Dean, the Buzzcocks, and the Stranglers. Is that obscure enough for you.? They were great but they were fucked up. Shit hammered... The Mark E. Smith looking guitarist/vocalist gave himself numerous spit showers - spit straight up in the air so that it came back down and hit himself... Not sure what purpose that served, but they were good.

Tilly and the Wall came out... They remind me of Fleetwood Mac, vocal stylings of Stevie Nicks and Christie McVie and a pain in the ass Lindsey Buckingham - with a Tap Dancer. The 2 vocalist girls drive me CRAZY, I love their sound and I am kindof ashamed to say it. I feel like a dirty old man watching these girls, but who cares. Their vocals are strong and distinct and I usually discount female vocalists... Seriously, it takes alot for me to like a female vocalist (Natalie Merchant, Hazel O'Connor, Debbie Harry, Siouxie Sioux, Kim Deal, Kate Pearson (not Cindy Wilson from B-52's) Bjork, and Avril Levine.....)

I thoroughly enjoyed myself, Money didn't know what to make of them. Thats cool.

To me, their songs seem like I am watching the Von Trap Family Singers, from the Sound of Music for all of you that had a deprived childhood. Or, the Mama's and the Papa's, or the chicks from Human League. It's hard to describe their harmonies and the effect a Tap Dancer has, in lieu of a drummer... Kinda wild.

I hope ya'll don't think less of me for liking this band so much, ya never know, they could get big.... Just maybe...

Geeeze, That was an old fashioned butt whoopin last night on Thursday night football. This is the kind of loss that makes you question what you did previously and wonder what the future holds.

Virginia Tech knew what they were doing and did it. The Tigers did not know what they were doing and executed nothing... Clemson burned all 3 timeouts with 7:36 left in the 1st Quarter- that means they were confused. They kept trying to run up the middle with 8 men in the box. Spence did not realize that we should throw to the flats to open up the middle, Proctor had no time or accurracy when trying to go down field. Everything we did - they stopped.

James Davis and CJ Spiller came into the game as Thunder and Lightening, they left as a regular Sophomore and Freshman (keep the nicknames out of the press until you can live up to them on a weekly basis) 80 yds total rushing for the game is NOT GOOD. ORR, RB for Va. Tech, is really good. He went for > 200 yds and deserved all of them. They looked like we have looked for the past 8 games. Beemer showed that he is a great coach last night - Awesome Game Plan dude, and a 4 game winning streak against the Tigers...

In most schools there would be a QB controversy, not here, we are going with Proctor whether he can handle it or not. The last time the Tigers won in Blacksburg was 1989 when a Sr. QB starting for his first year after being a backup for 4 years - Chris Morocco - led the Tigers to Victory, too bad Proctor couldn't do the same thing.

I have been caught up in our own hysteria and I am as guilty as anyone for talking shit and putting a halo on our team prematurely. I go back to my earlier posts and prognostications and realize that we predicted this before the season. We stated that we needed to split the Fla. St. and B.C. games and split the Ga. Tech and Va. Tech games.... Well that has happened now... Now it is time to get a not jerked in our ass and play ball. We've got 3 tough games ahead of us. Maryland and NC ST. are both 5-1 in the ACC and neither are a pushover. Then USC comes to town after playing 3 of their next 4 games vs ranked opponets, all they need to do is win 1 or 2 of these games and they will get their confidence up when they come to town. Spurrier NEEDS to beat Clemson this year to add to his Legend and we can't let that happen.

No easy road for us. Bye, Bye BCS - that's OK, I just don't think we will get the help we need with other teams' losing to make the ACC title game. BC will probably represent the Atlantic. Bye Bye top 10. We should hover around 18 - 20th and that will be respectable. Bye Bye love. With Herbstreet and co touting the Tigers as an elite 1 loss team, we have burned their bridge. We are already Bowl eligible, but I am guilty of swinging for the fences, who wants to get their ass beat in the Orange Bowl when we can party our ass off and see a good game at the Peach Bowl...

The Fiance is driving me crazy.
We are in the process of making the biggest purchase of our lives and she has already begun packing...

I have come to realize that none of my shit is sacred...

She has started with books and sheets... She wanted to throw away, "Catcher in the Rye", "Lord of the Rings" and "Animal Farm" amongst others ("Heart of Darkness", "A Clockwork Orange", "Waiting for Godot", assorted Vonnegut) I mean, get real... Who cares about the Clancy's, Cusslers, Chrichton's and Grisham's but I gotta keep my classics.

I have learned that none of my sheet sets are acceptable... These are the same sheet sets she has enjoyed for YEARS... I do get to keep the Orange Tommy H. sheets for the guest bedroom.

I can tell, this is going to be a trying time... As long as we keep laughing about it. That's OK but our tentative closing isn't for another MONTH....

Well we whipped Ga. Tech's ass last night but still are unable to crack into the top 10. I do see on the USA Today poll that we did leap frog Cal, with their unimpressive 2 OT win over Washington. That still leaves us 11th. The AP and BCS polls will come out later but what do we have to do to get some love???

I think last night's game put us on the map Nationally... We will have the same stage on Thursday night vs. Va. Tech.... I just hope we can put together another strong gameplan and be able to execute it. I would love to see both Davis and Spiller spotlighted again...

On a much lighter note, all the Carolina fans were upset when they saw "Go Vandy" signs on GameDay... What do you want??? Support??? Vandy beats the crap out of Georgia and then gets waxed vs. Carolina. Rogman says GameDay is coming to beautiful Columbia SC next week... Good for them - but I don't know about the "beautiful" part. They need to pull off the shocker - Tenn will be after revenge after what they did last year.

When you get a chance - watch the movie "Once in a Lifetime: The Story of the New York Cosmos".

This made me reminisce about my innocent childhood.

What was soccer in the 70's? Nothing is right.

This movie took you behind the scenes, and showed the blueprint of how the team came together and how it fell apart - all while playing the game. Greatest part about this documentary is that all the people interviewed actually HATE each other. Names are dropped, same stories are told 5 different ways, blame is cast, it was awesome.

As a 10 yr old kid, I never saw or would have never understood what was going on behind the scenes BUT I L O V E D the NY Cosmos!!!! I thought Giorgio Chinaglia was an awesome player!!! Come to find out he was a selfish, cunniving, out of shape, fucking asshole. I still love him even more. He gets blamed for everything and it just perpetuates his image. (I loved his commentary during the 2006 World Cup) Hearing the stories of how he berated PELE just makes me laugh... (That's like Stever Kerr yelling at Michael Jordan...)

The late 70's were a wild time - we were able to witness great players. Maybe when Beckham comes to America we can get this type of Soccer Fever again... (Doubtful)

Went to the reported #2 haunted house in the country last night. It was good but with that kind of praise the expectations were raised - as well as, the attendance. There were people everywhere... Lines wrapped around the building - Money bought SPEED Passes for all of use, even though I had already bought regular tix. At least we didn't have to wait in line outside.

Inside, that was a different story. I took the lead in 2 of the 3 houses but we were right on the heels of the group in front of us.

The 1st house is the biggest and bestest. It was huge... You didn't know where to go. The Fiance had her finger looped in my beltloop and was along for the ride. It was kinda kool, cheesy mechanical ghosts powered by air pumps and hydraulics, but the maze of corridors was impressive. The Live actors made it great though. They could not touch you and really didn't scream at you but they just walked up behind you and scared the shit out of you... Even when you see em coming its still kinda spooky... I let out the OH SHIT bombs quite a few times.

House #2 was Shock-o-rama and we were given 3-D glasses. Made me remember Friday the 13th Part 3... This house was painted all in neon colors and they all moved. It was wild. Best room in that house had all black walls with orange, yellow, blue, red neon dots every where and then they had a small person dressed all in black with the same dots allover their clothes to come out at you... That was really cool... The Neon rolling barrell that you had to walk though made you nautious - ground was level but the optical illusion made you lean to your right.... I wanted to puke. I told the girl to close her eyes...

3rd House was OK, Feakshow, Crazy Clown Town. Eh, I was done by that point.

It was a good time in all, really, the best part was the actors that were walking thru the parking lot... They scared the shit out of you...

I couldn't imagine working there... It would be cool for about 3 days then it would get REAL old.

GREAT Beer for 2018 World Cup...

It just came across the wire that Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands will tri-host the 2018 World Cup. This will be the first time (I think) that 3 countries have hosted World Cup games.

What does this mean???

It means that if the Germans almost ran out of beer during the 2006 World Cup, they had to split the beer drinking between 3 countries reserves.

I don't know of a good Luxembourgian beer - but am willing to learn...

The mentality is the Belgians will produce 1/3 the quantity but the higher the octane the less you should be able to drink. Or you just settle for kegs of Stella Artois.

The Dutch will just have to keep the Heineken flowing...

One of the biggest "issues" during the German World Cup was all the Sex workders that applied for work visa's... What will happen when the World Cup finals are held in Amsterdam??? 1/2 the players will be stoned out of their minds and a % of them will miss the game because they are still handcuffed to the bed at the local S & M Dungeon.

Why would these countries want to host this? This would allow the Germans to conquor them all over again...

Even though the US World Cup was probably one of the most profitable and most watched World Cups in history - it will not be back for quite some time.

It was announced yesterday that ESPN's College Game Day will be coming to Clemson. (See article below). This is going to be great publicity for the school, our homecoming tradition, and hopefully propel us to victory. Bad thing is I don't think, Corso, Herbstreet and crew will be coming to Tigerama Friday night - where would they stay??? The Thunderbird hotel in Central??? Just kidding. Since I left the # of hotels in the Clemson area has quadrupled BUT that doesn't mean those prima-donnas would want to stay at the best room at the Ramada. (I remember when the Rolling Stones came to Clemson - they blocked off 10,000 parking spaces from the 65,000 fans to land their 2 helicopters that flew them in/out from ATL)

They will set up shot on Bowman field with Tillman Hall in the background, with all the Homecoming floats in full view... Serious pressure on the Frat Boys to make the Floats look good.

Should be a good time... Damn 7:30 kickoff, but GameDay starts at 10 am... That is some serious tailgating time....

CLEMSON, SC - ESPN's College GameDay Built By The Home Depot will originate from Clemson on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Bowman Field on the Clemson University campus. The #12 ranked Tigers (6-1, 3-1 ACC) will play host to #13 Georgia Tech (5-1, 3-0 ACC) on Saturday at 7:45 PM on ESPN.

Fans are invited to Bowman Field, where Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, and Desmond Howard will host the two-hour show from a stage at the north end of the field (closest to Mell Hall). GameDay is in its 20th year of existence, its 13th year as a traveling program to campus sites, but this will be the first time the program will originate from Clemson.

Bowman Field is also the site of Clemson's Homecoming floats, which will present a unique setting for the program. The long range weather forecast calls for a sunny day with temperatures in the high 60s.

After the Temple Owls returned the opening kickoff, 46 yards and their first play was a reverse that gained 30 yards - we stood in awe and chuckled. Good for them we said. They got a Field Goal and I was prompted to say to Magic "What should we do? Drink 1 beer for every touchdown Clemson scores OR drink 1 beer for every point Temple scores? In the end, the point was moot = Clemson had 9 touchdowns and Temple scored 9 points....

Good game though. The Tigers worked on their fundamentals, played alot of younger players, and ran,ran,ran... Too bad Spiller didn't get to 100 yds, that would mean 3 backs over 100...

I tell ya' Chancellor is no joke as a 4th string tailback. If Reggie Merriwether would have played, they would not have been able to tackle him...

I thought the show was awkward when Alec Baldwin's character was introduced and he explained that he invented the "Tri-Vection" oven (in greater detail than anyone would have cared about.) I didn't understand the importance of this bit UNTIL the 2nd commercial when, guess what the commericail was about???? drumroll please - The GE "Tri-Vection" oven... WHAT... Are we in the 1950's when they did commercials as part of the program...

Police up suspect's charge to murder

FLORENCE, S.C. - Police have now charged a 21-year-old man with murder in the killing of a man two months ago at a Florence apartment complex.

Kunta Kente Hicks had been charged as an accessory before and after murder as well as armed robbery.

But new information led investigators to charge Hicks with actually killing 31-year-old Terry Scott in August, Florence Police Maj. Carlos Raines said.

Two other men, William Karington McCoy, 20, and Christopher David Scott, 20, have been charged with murder and armed robbery in the case.

Ky. Officials Want to Ban Liquor Devices

FRANKFORT, Ky. - Kentuckians sip their bourbon, and have also been known to cook with it. But inhale it?

The very idea of bypassing the taste buds seems sacrilegious in a state that claims to produce the world's best bourbon, which generates more than $1 billion a year in sales.

State officials in the land of Old Grand-Dad, Jim Beam and Wild Turkey are pushing to ban a device that vaporizes liquor and allows people to inhale the intoxicating fumes for a quick high without the burn of hard liquor.

Teresa Barton, head of the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy, said banning alcohol vaporizers is a matter of public safety, not preserving the state's sipping whiskey industry. She said such devices could become "a real deadly trap" because they have "no purpose other than to get you drunk."

So far, 17 states have banned them, including California, New York, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Ohio, and several others are considering doing so, said Sherry Green, executive director of the National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws. Tennessee, the home of Jack Daniels, already prohibits the vaporizers.

"When you inhale alcohol right into the lung tissue, that gets drawn right into the blood supply immediately, so it's a very rapid onset of the intoxicating effect, and so has obviously very high abuse potential," said Robert Walker, an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky Center on Drug and Alcohol Research.

Walker said alcohol vaporizers bypass altogether the tactile pleasures of drinking wine with a fine meal or a cold beer with a pizza: "You're going strictly to the intoxicating effect of alcohol."

In addition, Green warned that the devices could provide a dangerous legal loophole for teenagers in states where current law forbids only "underage drinking," not "underage inhaling."

Kevin Morse, president of Spirit Partners Inc. in Greensboro, N.C., which markets the Alcohol Without Liquid, or AWOL, devices, said they are harmless.

"At the end of the day, it's just a new way for adults to enjoy alcohol in a different manner," said Morse, who sells single-user devices over the Internet for $299 each or multi-user devices for $2,500 each.

The devices, which resemble asthma inhalers, can be used for just about any kind of alcohol, including wine, vodka, even martinis.

Morse said attempts to ban the devices have been great for business. "We haven't spent the first dime on advertising," he said. "When these legislators start repeating these rumors, then we start selling them like crazy."

Neither the liquor industry nor anti-drinking groups take credit for the bans on the devices.

"Legislators are basically banning this on their own," said Amy George, spokeswoman for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. George said MADD has not taken an official position on the issue in any of the states that instituted bans because, she said, not enough research has been done to show that they are necessary.

One of the world's largest distributors of alcoholic beverages, London-based Diageo, with brands including Smirnoff and Crown Royal, has pushed for the bans, saying the vaporizers "could encourage alcohol abuse and drunk driving."

Ed O'Daniel, president of the Kentucky Distillers' Association, said he, too, supports a prohibition on the devices. A ban died in a state Senate committee in February, but O'Daniel said he believes it will pass in the next session.

Greg Brooks, a private investigator from North Carolina, said he tried the AWOL device in a New York bar a couple of years ago.

"You get a mild euphoria," he said. "It's like having one drink, maybe. It dissipates quickly. If you like getting drunk or getting a real heavy buzz, this isn't the thing for you."

Did yard work like I was scared of being deported for my mother.

Went to a Braves Game to end the season.

Went to a Mortugage Broker to discuss getting some money...
Talked to a Real Estate Agent and they went out of town...
Turned into my own Real Estate Agent and took, the Fiance out...

Been deep into College Football for the last 4 weeks.
Went to the Clemson vs. La Tech. Got to the tailgate and we were the 7th car in the parking lot, left the tailgate and there were only about 20 cars left. Nice 12.5 hr tailgate. Game was good too... We had 3 rushers that gained over 100yds each. Also, 3rd game of the year scoring > 50 points AND we have Temple coming up in a few weeks. Lost sleep thinking, "OH SHIT, Wake Forrest is next..."

Work turned to shit, in one day....
I think I turned it around and hopefully landed a big deal the next Monday...

Flag football starts soon and I have gained 20lbs since blowing out my knee.
Found out today that 3 of my favorite teammates quit to start their own work team...

Rough morning here... Up till after 3 with the RogMan - Ooof... Came into the local coffeehouse and am using their Wi-Fi for the 3rd time this vacation.

Why is it that I feel guilty? I spend $1.25 on a cup of coffee I am not even drinking and I sit on my ass and work for 2 hours. There are about 4 other people doing the same thing here. How do they make money on giving this away for free.?.?

Last night was the begining of my vacation and it got off to an interesting start.

Money had tix to Ben Harper at Chastain so everyone started the Happy Hour at my house. I didnt know it was going to be a party.... Holy Shit. Beer bottles everywhere this morn. I learned to eat Peanut Butter and Mustard sammiches. (Sounds disgusting right? its not though, the acid of the mustard cuts the stickiness of the peanut butter so that you eat it without it sticking to the roof of your mouth.)

Much consumption later we make our way to Chastain. We pack a cooler and tailgate in the parking lot of some christian school. Feeling no pain.

I had never heard of Ben Harper before but I really liked the show. He sat down and played lap guitar for about 1/2 the show. It was good.

T-balls little girl friend wasn't as drunk as T-ball, Magic and Money were shit hammered and Corn acted like he had just been released from prison (He may have made it on stage for all I know - he was out of control) All I could think about was - I haven't fucking packed for Myrtle Beach yet - still haven't...

As the show ends, Money is puking and Magic is out of his mind. We make our way to the Exit and Magic hands me his keys - what the fuck - who elected ME to drive. So that was an experience driving home.

Corn wouldn't stay at the house like he should have... Money is passed out on the couch - and leaves sometime before 7am when I got up, and Magic is crashed in the guest room. Well I clean up the bomb crater of a living room, I swear it looked like a battlefield - dead soldiers everywhere... By 8:15 I am makeing a ton of noise so Magic will wake up so I can pack my shit. He remembers NOTHING of the night before...Wow...

If this is indicative of how my vacation is going to go - I will have plenty to report in a week's time...

PS... GO TIGERS!!!!! Beat those Bastards from Fla. St.
PPSS... The #2 ranked Clemson Tigers Soccer team defeated #5 ranked UNC last night 1- 0. This is our second victory over a top 5 team in less than a Week.... We look pretty good....

I don't know if this is going to last but do you know how much lost productivity the USA experiences every Monday during football season but I am sure it is alot. Wow... This is funny as shit... Strippers at your funeral... All I ever wanted was a keg of beer at my funeral, this beats out beer. This article from www.freakonomics.com/blog doesn't mention if people are getting lapdances and the such but it does say that if you get reported to the cops you will be fined... What the hell, golf courses frown when you have Strippers on the 7th and 15th holes and now the cops take offense when the Talent shows up for your funeral...

We may be seeing a upturn in crime but it will still be alot less than its peak in the 80's. There will always be crime but it's amazing to realize why crime has decreased. WHY you ask. Crime has decrease because of the legalization of Abortion. Think about it. That many unwanted and potentially underpriviledged children out there that you could say would be destined to a life of crime are not in society. It has taken me a while to post this because it kills me to come to this realization, even though I have hinted at this previously.

Looks like we continue to be a mediocre team... This was the year to break free of the skeptics but that will not happen now - Unless we upset Fla. St. and can win out for the balance of the year.

This 2 overtime debacle yesterday put me in the WORST mood. Even though I had Date Night planned with the Fiance, dinner and Modern Skirts show... I musta pissed her off 6-7 times at different times during the night... She was ready to kill me, just like I was ready to kill Tommy Bowdon - he got out coached again...

Ya gotta win the one's they pick you to win. We had the game and gave it away. We had it in the 1st overtime but we gave the ball to a FRESHMAN on the 2 yrd line and he lost 8 yards... This freshman will be a hell of a player soon... Not on an important game like this... Great job Tommy. Whoda thunk we'da lost the game due to a blocked extra point but we can invent new ways to lose. Our kicker was an All-American last year and he looked like total shit yesterday...

Yeah, I will watch the Fla.St. game next week but you won't hear me talk any shit - before or after... Even though they almost lost to TROY... We will probably beat Fla.St. but lose to UNC (who lost to Rutgers week 1) or to NC State (who lost to Akron yesterday) or to Wake Forest (who barely beat Duke, Duke lost to U.of Richmond in week 1) Jesus. Va. Tech may kill us on National TV on a Thurs Night in October... I am not looking forward to that.

After the 54-6 shallacking of Florida Atlantic I traveled to N. Chuck to see my Momma for the rest of the Labor Day weekend.

We had a good day Sunday, church and lunch then out for a Seafood dinner on Shem Creek. It was nice. Monday was yardwork (I had forgotten how hard that shit is) and then to the grocery store (I always take her and buy her things she really doesn't need, ie: she now has 7 unopened bottles of Palmolive dish soap) During our conversations I mention that I would come and pick her up and take her to Myrtle Beach for a couple days while Brandi and I are there.

My parents have had a timeshare in Garden City, SC since 1982 and for the last 10 yrs I have used the time share and pay the yrly maintenance fee. I send momma a check every year. This yr I ask momma when it is and she tells me it is the Weekend After Labor Day. Momma could never tell me the date and we always go round and round about this but she keeps saying the Weekend After Labor Day... Well all year that to me has meant Sept 9-16. I go to mark her coming to M.B. on her calendar (because if it is not on the calendar she cannot remember it) and I see that she has the dates marked on the calendar from the 17th - 23rd... W H A T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MOMMA WHAT THE HELL!!! You told me the weekend after Labor Day!!! Jesus, we are screwed... Brandi may not be able to get off. I have asked you 1000 times what the dates are and you keep telling me the Weekend After Labor Day - that means the Sat after Labor Day Monday!!! Oh my God... Oh, well... Spilled milk, is what I said because I could tell my tirade was hurting her feelings. Dammit... She apologizes and I hug her neck and I leave for ATL.

I get in the car and call The Fiance. The tension was thicker than the Thunderclouds that I had to drive thru. Then the Fiance, whom normally won't lash out at people unless she has 4-5 drinks in her, tells me it is MY Fault... Of course it is my fault. She almost called my mom senile, instead she continued to tell me that I have ruined her life... Shit... I feel soooooo bad.

We go to a BBQ last night and get along OK but when we get home, I leave her alone. She goes to bed so I take her schedule and totally re-work her schedule in excel and ask her to give this to her Mgr to see if he will be cool and change her vacation schedule. She is reluctant to ask for any favors - WHY. She is a model employee, always helpful, very tenured and if this guy will not help her out he should have his short hairs plucked out.... I have made it as easy for him as possible but she has to do the asking.

It really isn't a big deal, my employees used to pull this shit on me all the time - I always accommodated them and I didn't even like them...

LAS VEGAS - The Clark County School District kicked off the first day of school Wednesday with scant resources. But it got a major donation from the scantily clad.

The same day the nation's fifth largest school district began the year with some 400 teaching vacancies, the nonprofit corporation that supports it, the Public Education Foundation, accepted a $2,500 donation from a strip club, Scores Las Vegas.

"Thank you for your donation of $2,500, received on August 30, 2006," said a letter from foundation president Judi Steele to Scores' marketing director, Shai Cohen. "Thank you again for your willingness to support our community and invest in our children ... our future."

Scores raised the funds at an Aug. 23 back-to-school event called "Detention" that featured strippers dressed as teachers, schoolgirls and librarians.

"It's back to school time and you know what that means. Detention for everyone who has been bad!" one advertisement read.

The performers peeled off clothes and offered lap dances to customers, Cohen said. Patrons also left more than $1,000 donations in a jar that the club said would go to the Clark County School District. Scores matched the donations roughly dollar for dollar, he said.

"In this town, money is money, regardless," Cohen said. "We're a respectable business. We pay taxes like everybody else. We have a business license. It's for a good cause."

"Education is very important," he said.

The foundation's director of development, Deb Hegna, said the donation was gratefully accepted.

"From any licensed, legitimate business, we're certainly happy to accept donations," she said, adding the gentleman's club told them it had raised the funds at a charity event.

The money was earmarked for the foundation's exchange program, which provides new or gently used materials, supplies and computers to Clark County teachers for free or little cost.

The district, a sprawling area covering 8,000 square miles in southern Nevada with more than 300,000 students expected this year, is the fastest growing in the nation, said school district spokesman Steve Lombard.

The district has had difficulty hiring teachers to keep pace with growth, especially with the high cost of housing in southern Nevada, he said. The state ranks 46th in the nation in per-pupil spending, according to a U.S. Census Bureau report.

The district's associate superintendent, Karlene Lee, said the district was not informed about and did not condone the flier used to promote the strip event.

Lee had no comment on the fundraising activities of the foundation, a separate entity which raises about $5 million a year.

Thank God its football season again. First Thursday games kept you on the edge of your seat. I could not believe the Chippewa's of Central Michigan ALMOST beat Boston College... Is BC that bad or are they going to take the next 9 days to focus on the boys from Clemson??? Screw them, they looked bad.

USC pulled one out against Miss St. That was a good game. I could not believe that the defenses kept each other in check like they did. The impromptu fake punt changed the balance of the game in USC's favor. The punter was voted player of the game for Christ Sake... THE FUCKING PUNTER... Well, all they needed was that 1 trick play pass to the #1 criminal on the team and the game was over. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance but sitting out a whole season on suspension is usually a kiss of death. Maybe this cock will disprove the myth and have a good season.

USC has got to play a hell of a lot better next week to compete with UGa.
I tried rooting for USC last night but as the day drug on I was pulling for MSU.
Maybe next week I will do the same thing... They just gotta beat UGa and then lose the rest of their games....

Last week Clemson won its first meeting of the year against the Univ of South Carolina. Clemson's Mens Soccer team rallied for a 4-3 victory over USC. This is the 4th yr in a row the Mens Soccer team has beaten USC and this streak remains alive and well... Last year we were 6 - 1 vs the Cocks and we should do about the same this year.

I truly hope I do not have to eat these words over Thanksgiving but I am cocky enought to live by this prediction. We should take them in Basketball again this year too but to sweep all 4 games in Baseball will be a tough feat to match, but in '04 we went 7 - 0 against them. I only count the major sports in this listing: Football, Basketball, Baseball and Soccer - I don't count Women's sports because they just drain the university of money and take up much needed scholarships for better deserving football players.

After USC beats Miss State in week 1 and BEATS Georgia in week 2 - I would be content for them to go 0 -10 in the last 10 games, to finish @ 2 - 10.

Fucking Par 3's

Played a late round of golf yesterday at Legacy. It's a Par 58 with 14 Par 3's and 4 Par 4's. The rules were cart v. cart, $1 per hole, and you could only use 3 clubs plus your putter.

What 3 clubs do you pick when you know you have so many short holes BUT have 4 holes that you need to get a decent drive. I picked 6 iron, 8 iron and PW + putter. Not sure if that was the best idea but maybe next time I will go 5, 7, 9 + putter.

It was Hotter than Hell, I was soaked before the 2nd hole. Money and I started drinking heavy and dropped the 1st 4 skins and took the next 5 in a row. Good Right...? Well I fell apart on the back. I missed a 18" par putt for 3 skins on the 15th and never recovered. I did par the 18th but so did both guys in the other cart.

Money was so mad after I missed that short putt that on the next tee box, he shanked his Billy Club (7wood) and he smashes it on the ground. Needless to say that was the end of the Billy Club... The shaft broke just above the head. Not sure if it is going to be re-shafted or not. Hell, the last time Money broke a club we were at his house and he snapped another 3 wood and used the barbed shaft to gouge a 4" gash into my shin. We were shit hammered after a Braves game but that boy is dangerous...

It goes without saying that I may not be qualified for the "Executive" courses but taking all the clubs out of your bag brings another aspect to the game. If I had all my clubs I probably would've done even worse.

Why is it that I need a beer to calm my nerves at the begining of the round but totally fall apart after I am totally relaxed after 8-10 beers????

PS - Got the BubbleGuts today... Yesterday's hot beer and post match pizza have kept me in the bathroom since 4am.

When I started this Blog I commented that my friends were starting to move into Atlanta. I have had 3 sets of friends move to ATL from allover the country in the 1 1/2 yrs I have been here. Now, the beloved Dick Boy is moving back to Michigan.

What the hell? Stay at home mothers are underappreciated and underfunded and overworked BUT they must go and do and make the best of the situation. DB's wife is great but didn't have any outlets. She moved down here 7 months pregnant, with no friends, living way outside of civilization, has a husband that makes good money but has to travel for weeks at a time. She wanted to get back near family. That is understandable but ATL was never given a chance.

What is DB to do? Exchanging Harsh Summers for Harsh Winters does not sound like a good tradeoff but the alternative is no good either. Rather be happy at home and shovel snow than shovel shit every day you come home.

No matter what I say in this posting - the Fiance is going to be pissed.

I cook an awesome Red Beans and Rice dinner tonight and we go to watch TV and she calls it for the evening. What? We watched Part 1 of a very interesting, thought provoking, moving documentary last night that she and I had good conversations about how government works, powers of the state vs. fed., personal responsibility, race and the entitlement mentality that is prevalent in America. A good stimulating intellectual conversation.

Tonight comes, I wanna watch "Marry me you asshole" or "Lesbian workout" or some other lame shit on the WE Network. What...? Don't you wanna have another good conversation? No, not tonight... What...?

She did make a good point - Pt.2 will be on HBO on Demand tomorrow but she even read my blog today and didn't want to see what happens in Pt. 2... I sure hope We, she and I, never have to live thru a catastrophe like Katrina. Not sure how she will handle. Watching shows like this helps EVERYONE to understand, what happened, what mistakes were made, what people should have done, what government should have done and what not to do in the future.

It was just great to see that General (forget his name), take over and make things happen. I have to say that FEMA is a joke! They did a good job with 9/11 but that was just 16 blocks, New Orleans is >90 miles. The only agency we have that can effectively invade a ravished area and set up order, bring in supplies, and provide medical and engineering help is the U.S. Military! When the Army comes in - they take over!

Oh, don't get me wrong, there was plenty of "where was Bush", "the levees were blown up", "this was a race thing" but it had both sides of the story. Many people admint, well, they told us to leave but I made it thru Bessie... This was a catastrophe that I hope we never see again - BUT - cities and people have to be prepared. I hope it doesn't happen but San Francisco has a city policy that states the residents should be prepared to be self-sufficient for the first 72 hours after the quake. That means, don't expect any help for 72 hours while the Gov't mobilizes. That is a ballsy statement but is about right. During my almost 39 yrs living within Hurricane striking distance, when a storm is coming - You prepare (buy water, food, batteries, etc.)

No one expected the levees to break and there were ALOT of mistakes made - Let's see what Part 2 brings us tonight.

Went on down to Tybee Island for this past weekend.... It was pretty cool. Didn't get down there till late, 10:30 or so. By the time we got there everyone was partied out and ready to go to sleep. Not me... I started drinking and went out. Oooof. I got hammered with the locals.

Spent Sat at the beach. 1st time in my life that I have Legally drank beer at the beach. I grew up at the beach in Charleston but we always had to sneak beers. Quite liberating, getting shit hammered in our own little area. Played Horseshoes and looked at all the cuties while the Fiance wasn't looking. We go to leave and my $75 Teva's are gone... Isn't it supposed to be the sober people's responsibility to take care of the drunk people? Where the hell did they go? Washed out to sea? That's screwed up.

Sunday comes and the Girl wanted to go see her family. Cool. The stepmonster sure can cook. I got my fill of food and Nephew and it was time to go.

Guess what - THIS ISN'T EVEN THE WORST PART...

As I pull away from the emergency lane I look down and see "CHECK ENGINE" light is on... DAMMIT. Last time this happened my transmission dropped immediately. I immediately see $3500 leaving my pocket. I turn off all the electric in the car and we drive all the way back in 103 degree weather without a/c... Then it starts raining... We finally get back to the house safe and secure. I take it in to the Acura dealership today and they check it out - Torque Converter Lock-Up, my tranny is going out again. Since my trans is only 13 months old the service person says that I should be able to get it replaced FREE. She is 97% sure. Those are a mighty expensive 3% that I am not sure about yet. She hasn't called me back so I don't know how fucked I really am.

Golf's 4th Major, the PGA Championship, started yesterday at Medina. Both Tiger and Phil shot a 3 under 69 and are in good shape.

A good 'ol Clemson boy, Lucas Glover, is tied for the lead @ -6... All 3 ex-Tigers shot under par in the first round, Johnathan Byrd is -3 and Charkes Warren is -1. A good showing for our boys. Go Lucas Go is our chant. He needs this strong showing to get chosen for the Ryder Cup.

What I am here to write about today is how Davis Love III totally choked yesterday. He was at -7 and in the ruff on a par three and he totally whiffed on the ball. I mean he totally went under the ball and it went nowhere. On his next shot, he duffed it right into the sand trap. Ahh, big time pro playing like a hack - couldn't happen to a nicer guy... 12 yrs ago we followed Davis @ the Pro-Am of the BellSouth Classic and he was a total DICK to his playing partners. Those Am's pay alot of money for the priviledge of playing with the pro's, it does no one any good to be a Dick to these guys on their 1 opportunity to play with a "name" player. When I moved to Savannah, working for the Cell Company, I was counting the deposit one morning and I noticed a check from 'Davis Love Properties' out of Hilton Head. I asked my employees about it. Oh yeah, Davis is a customer. They have 10 lines with us... I still remember him being a Dick so when I actually managed the H.H. store I definitely did not get star struck when he came in to pay a bill. Just a nother rich bastard complaining about nickles and dimes.

Now I am watching The Colbert Report and he just reaffirmed a misconceived notion in America today. Voting is a priviledge - NOT A RIGHT. Some people are not qualified to vote!!!! But, the way the laws stand now ANYONE, citizen or non-citizen, resident or non-resident, is supposedly required to vote... No they aren't! This is why the Democrats are so against any type of voter registration identification bill. (As you may know Georgia has one of the strictest voter identification processes in the country - meaning, to vote - you have to show your ID.) Sounds reasonable right? Well the Democrats do not want people to prove who they are when they vote. They want ANYONE to be able to vote - that is why they fund busses to drive invalid Sr. Citizens to the polls, homeless people are rounded up and bussed in to vote, etc. This is bullshit.

Colbert's program sounds great and will help the poor. Charge people to vote and then distribute this fee amongst the poor and elderly!!! This would ensure that those that are not contributing to the economy have no say in the government that is supporting them... GREAT IDEA!!!

I feel there should be also be a competency test associated with registering to vote. You must prove that you know something before you can have an opinion on anything... OR, if you are filthy rich, you should be able to pay to vote...

WOW. I re-watched Deadwood on HBO last night. Now that is what shows are supposed to lead up to!!! I had been kinda disappointed that there hasn't been much action going on but now our dreams are realized.

I swear, Sweargin, is a bad ass! And the guy that plays Hurst used to be Major Dad on TV and the poor guy was married to Delta Burke - no wonder he has no problem playing that miserable bastard. (If you bumped uglies with that blimp Burke you would be an asshole too)

I don't really understand the lesbian aspect of the show. That angle is strange for this setting. Why did we have to see Calamity Jame naked and have yet to see Joanie Stubbs???
I don't really get the Theater Troup contingent either but that amateur night was good.

I am just ready for an all out war with Sweargin, Hurst and Bullock.

My favorite quote from this last show was when they were standing at the bar at the Gem Saloon, talking about being outnumbered and Trixie leaves, Sweargin's guy says "Her Jew's got sand if you tell him where to point the gun." That's funny. But their language is what makes the show. With >20 Cocksuckers thrown into the mix and the reminants of Old English, I think it is hilarious.

Clemson Baseball Coach Jack Leggett has signed a new five-year contract. Terms of the contract were not released pending the final execution of the contract by Clemson University Administration.

"We are thrilled that Jack Leggett has signed a new five-year contract," said Phillips. "He is an outstanding coach and individual who has always been a great ambassador for this University. He is well respected by his baseball peers, his players, and all the employees within this department. His consistent accomplishments as a head coach of this program rank him among the top coaches in the nation."

Leggett has been the head coach at Clemson for 13 years and has taken the program to the NCAA Tournament all 13 seasons. Five times he has brought the Tigers to the College World Series, including 1996 and 2002 when he guided the program to the Final Four of the event.

I know I don't have to worry about the Clemson Soccer team. We went to the Final Four last year and return the ACC player of the year, Dane Richards. We will be golden there... Basketball??? Well, that's a whole other story... We will probably stink again. Just so long as we solidify the USC Sweep. Last yr we took Soccer, Football and Basketball and only lost 1 of the Baseball games... Good for us.

Shit. Since I have had my knee surgery I have thought I was doing OK with my re-hab. Walking at the river a few times a week, the fiance pressuring me to go to the fitness room and do 30 min on the elliptical machine. I am under the impression I am doing ok...

Today we were in Savannah, for the weekend, with nothing to do this morning so I decided to surprise the Sav. Soccer Boys... I show up @ 10 am and we scrimmage. I didn't know if my knee would hold up - little did I know that it was my old age and shape that gave out. I sucked wind the entire day!!! What's up with that? At least I didn't pull a hammie, a quad or a calf like I usually do.

I guess there is no real training for game like situations.

I tweaked the knee 3 times: 1 hyper extension and 2 cutting miscues but it held up... I am ready for my fitting for the athletic brace. It really made me feel good to be out there again but I am totally exhausted right now.

Did I mention I just got off the scale??? Oh, I have hit an all time High!!! I am trying to tell myself its all muscle but being a solid 36"waist is not making me feel any better.

During her speech she did not acknowledge and/or offer her support to her fellow Democratic Party member, Mr. Hank Johnson. She used this platform to bash Bush, voting machines, crossover Republicans, and blame everyone for her situation except for taking responsibility for her predicament herself. What a Bitch.

Is she eligible for Unemployment Benefits? If anyone knows how to work the system it is her. I am sure she will explore this opportinity - since this was the focus of her dealings with her constituents. She made sure that everyone in here District knew how to file their Unemployment, how to file their Earned Income Tax Credit, and other ways to bilk the government out of money instead of working for programs to help people better themselves.

I went to visit the step-parents of good friends of mine that I have not seen in many years. They have an Art Gallery in Buckhead. We had a nice talk and caught up on lost years. The subject came up about their daughter-in-law, who tends to be very opinionated. "Kevin I have a hard time talking to Peppermint because she is such a closed minded Republican." Hmmm I thought, how do i blast him out of the water... "Well Walt, did you falsify your address so that you could go to the 4th District and vote for Cynthia Mckinney?" Ha! Too bad for Dale D. This will probably mark the end of his 15 yr NBA career. I was very fortunate to have seen, probably, the greatest Clemson Basketball team as I graduated. Early in my Clemson tenure we had Horace Grant but he did not have a good supporting cast. As I graduated it was the emergence of Dale Davis and Elden Campbell, along with Grayson Marshall and other worthy supporting cast members. They were awesome and if it weren't for a last second shot by UConn we would have coasted into the Final Four.

Well Dale has been in the NBA for 15 years and this looks like the end of his career. I couldn't imagine Detroit keeping an older player with a discipline problem. Too many young bucks out there...

We wish Dale well BUT, do what the cops tell ya to do...

Maguire - Not on the First Ballot...

Today was the induction ceremony for the Baseball Hall of Fame - Bruce Sutter, a host of Negro League Players and some guys I do not know were inducted. Sutter was a good choice and was arguably the keynote speaker today.

Next year is a different story.

The Class of 2007 should have 2 shoe-ins and 1 intentional omission.
Cal Rypkin and Tony Gwynn should be UNANIMOUS inductees - Mark Maguire should get the snub on his first ballot. This is how baseball weeds out their ambassadors and their reluctant stars.

Rypkin and Gwynn had fantastic careers - and both played with the same team their entire careers!!! Rypkin embodied the game with his work ethic and has a record for consecutive games that NO ONE will ever match. Gwynn, albeit 280 lbs, is one of the purest hitters ever. He hit for power, he hit for average and he just plain hit em where they weren't.

Mark Maguire had a Hall of Fame career BUT even he cannot escape public scruiteny, partly because he brought it on himself at the Congressional hearings. MY view is "If you didn't get caught, and it cannot be proven, your records have to stand." That does not mean that he is beyond reproach. The public should show their displeasure and noticably omit him from next years induction class. Not being a 1st ballot inductee will make it's mark. Who gives a shit after that. He had a good career, he should get in. Barry Bonds too! Probably Sammy Sosa too. Rafael Palmero, I don't know about him - that was a positive test he had.

Pete Rose is one of the greatest players ever to play the game. I was lucky enough to see him play in Montreal when he was with the Phillies. He went 2 for 3, single and a double and a base on balls and he ran to first base. He definitely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame but he has pissed off so many people in baseball they should just tell him, "Posthumously Pete, posthumously." Once he dies he will probably get his own ceremony...

Maybe that will be the Steroid boys fate as well... We shall See...

The Finace is going out of town this week. Heading to the Myrtle Beach of Tennessee and just that analogy alone makes me not want to go... I gotta work. She comes to me last night for directions. I have a kick ass mapping program on the computer that I use for my job that makes Mapquest look like a chump.

I plug in her address and print it out... I get the question: Why does it take me thru North Carolina? Well, that's how they do it. I try to explain that is longer and harder to go thru the Nooga. I say "I'll get you my map." No, nevermind I don't want it... Hmmmm...

I wouldn't care if she couldn't fold it back but ya gotta be able to read a map.

I just watched the Pixar movie "The Incredibles" and I gotta say - that was a great movie... That is the formula ALL the Comic Book movies should take... This had violence, teen angst, family issues, etc., a good PG movie.

I already only watch South Park, Simpson's, etc. and thoses are the best shows on TV. Now I gotta rely on cartoons to see a good movie also.

She Fucking TapDances and that is the Rhythm section. No Drummer - a tapdancer... Bad thing is - she was fucking awesome...

I gotta show my prejudice... I really don't give much credence to female vocalists. Clemson fell to Cal-State Fullerton and was subsequently booted from the College World Series. At the begining of the Season I posted that I was uncomfortable being #1 and this proves it... #1 seeds do not have a good track record in the CWS... Dammit.

I also posted that this was and ACC Tournament and now there is only 1 ACC team left. UNC... Ga Tech, Miami and Clemson are all out....

I really cannot root for UNC... Why do I hate them more than Georgia? I don't know...
